KEEPING OUR RATES AFFORDABLE

 

Throughout my career on the Board, I have consistently fought to keep water rates affordable for all residents of Marin. I was the only member of the MMWD Board to vote against the recent rate increase that is impacting the pocketbooks of Marin residents. The rate hike was neither equitable nor fair, and I will continue to be a watchdog for water users and taxpayers.

 

MAINTAINING HIGH WATER QUALITY

 

I am vigilant in ensuring that MMWD maintains the highest quality water. This is a fundamental public health issue. With decades of water management experience, I know what questions to ask to hold staff accountable and ensure we meet the highest water standards.

 

ENSURING ADEQUATE WATER SUPPLY

 

I have worked with county, regional, and state officials to ensure Marin residents get the water they need. Through years of drought, I fought to protect our water supply from drastic cuts. Ensuring a reliable water supply will continue to be a central focus of my work on the MMWD Board.

 

IMPROVING ACCESS AND SAFETY FOR WATERSHED USERS

 

MMWD’s watershed provides water to more than half of our residents. Protecting this crucial water source has been a cornerstone of my work on the MMWD Board. I have helped guarantee residents have access to watershed water, while also using my expertise to ensure the water remains of the highest quality.

 

CONTINUING TO ACT AS A LIAISON BETWEEN STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS

 

As the only licensed water expert on the MMWD Board, I believe that diverse voices are important, but it’s essential that we retain someone who can effectively communicate between the Board, staff, and the public. I’m eager to continue serving as a water expert, always looking out for the people.
